This training is designed to improve the competency of technical personnel performing volumetric measurements with glassware and piston-operated measuring instruments in accordance with national and international standards. Participants will gain both theoretical and practical knowledge on the calibration procedures of volumetric glassware and piston-operated devices, permissible errors, measurement uncertainty calculations, and calibration certificate evaluation methods.
Training Content
- Calibration of volumetric glassware: preliminary preparation, calibration procedure, and volume calculation (TS 4787)
- Pipettes and similar devices: relevant standards, permissible errors, and calibration methods
- Burettes and similar devices: relevant standards, permissible errors, and calibration methods
- Graduated cylinders and similar devices: relevant standards, permissible errors, and calibration methods
- Pycnometers and similar devices: relevant standards, permissible errors, and calibration methods
- Calibration of piston-operated pipettes, piston burettes, and dispensers in accordance with TS EN ISO 8655-1/2/3/6
- Gravimetric calibration methods for piston-operated measuring instruments
- Establishment of an intermediate check system
- Measurement uncertainty calculation methods and evaluation of calibration certificates for glassware and piston-operated measuring instruments
